Iran says Ukraine has become a “legitimate target” because it supports Israel with drones

The head of Iran's parliament's national security committee, Ebrahim Azizi, said on Saturday that by providing drones to Israel, Ukraine had become involved in the war and turned its territory into a “legitimate target” for Iran.

“By providing drone support to the Israeli regime, failed Ukraine has de facto engaged in war and, according to the UN Charter, turned its entire territory into a legitimate target for Iran,” he wrote in a post on X, according to Agerpres.

On Friday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met in Paris with Reza Pahlavi (opponent and resident in exile), the Shah's son, with whom he discussed the situation in Iran and what he described as the “US operation against the terrorist regime.”

In their joint appearance, the Kiev leader recalled that Ukraine sent teams of experts to Qatar, the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia to share their experience in shooting down Iranian Shahed drones.

President Zelenski stated that the leadership of the Iranian state had suffered “significant losses” and called for greater protection for the Iranian people so that they can decide their own destiny without the regime in Tehran taking advantage of the current situation.

He also called for more international pressure and joint efforts to achieve these goals, and expressed his desire to see “a free Iran” that does not collaborate with Russia and destabilize the Middle East, Europe and the world, and thanked the crown prince's support for Ukraine's sovereignty.
