The man who attacked the synagogue in West Bloomfield near Detroit, Michigan, on Thursday was killed, American media reported, citing police sources. There is no information about other victims.


The attacker's death was announced by, among others, AP agency.
As Oakland County Sheriff Michael Bouchard told the media, the attacker drove his car into the synagogue, then engaged in a shootout with a temple security employee and was probably shot. He added that there was no information about other victims, and all people who were in the synagogue, including children in the nursery located there, were evacuated.
🚨 UPDATE: Authorities say the shooter involved in the attack at Temple Israel was found badly burned after crashing a vehicle into the building, which then caught fire. Armed security engaged the suspect in a shootout and fatally shot him.

The sheriff said it was too early to say what the perpetrator's motives were. He noted, however, that the local authorities had recently warned temples about the increased risk of attack, and the attacked synagogue was prepared.
