The administrative court ordered to consider the application for access to the calendar of meetings of the first president of the Supreme Court, Małgorzata Manowska – “Rzeczpospolita” found out.

On Sunday, “Rzeczpospolita” reminds on its website that in September last year the Watchdog Polska Civic Network decided to apply for access to the calendar of meetings of Małgorzata Manowska, who since 2020 has been the first president of the Supreme Court and ex officio president of the State Tribunal. As indicated, “the manner of her selection for these positions raises controversy in the judicial community.”
“Several prosecutorial proceedings are pending against her, and the National Prosecutor's Office has requested to waive her immunity. In the past, Manowska was accused of having connections with PiS politicians, e.g. in 2007, when Zbigniew Ziobro was in charge of the Ministry of Justice, she was one of the deputy ministers,” we read on the rp.pl website.
“Rz” wrote that the Watchdog Polska Civic Network requested data for the period from May 1 to September 15, 2025 “in the scope including information on business meetings, public events and other activities related to performing a public function.”
“The answer came several days later. According to the Supreme Court, the calendar of the first president cannot be made available because it does not constitute public information. 'An office, auxiliary tool supporting the organization of work of a public administration body, such as a calendar of meetings, is not a carrier of public information, because it only serves to support the implementation of public tasks by the body, but does not determine the directions of operation of the body,' – we read.”
After receiving this response, the Watchdog Polska association filed a complaint to the Provincial Administrative Court against the inaction of the first president, justifying it, among others, that “a citizen has the right to obtain information about the activities of public authorities and persons performing public functions.”
“Małgorzata Manowska requested that the complaint be dismissed as unfounded, but the court agreed with the Watchdog Polska Civic Network. As we learned, on March 5, the Provincial Administrative Court in Warsaw obliged Manowska to consider the request for public information within fourteen days from the date of delivery of the final judgment together with the case files,” writes “Rz”.
“Rz” wonders whether the Supreme Court will reveal Manowska's calendar. “The Supreme Court has not yet received the justification for the ruling, so no decision has been made regarding a possible cassation appeal. However, according to the Watchdog Polska Civic Network, this is still an important step towards making the calendars of politicians and high-ranking officials transparent,” we read on rp.pl.(PAP)
