Iran strikes back. A massive wave of attacks on the Persian Gulf countries


On the night of Wednesday to Thursday, the Saudi Arabian army intercepted Iranian drones attacking the Shaybah oil field, located near the border with the United Arab Emirates.

The Saudi Ministry of Defense added that the military also intercepted missiles fired at Prince Sultan Prince (Sultan) Air Base, located in Al-Kharj province, south of the capital, Riyadh.

In Dubai, a drone hit a residential building, causing a fire that, according to local services, was quickly brought under control. No injuries were reported. A video showing the effects of the Iranian attack was published on social media.

Dubai authorities also confirmed an incident near the Shari al-Sheikh Zayed highway, where debris from a successful drone intercept fell on the building's facade.

Kuwait was also attacked at night. The Ministry of Energy reported that the remains of the downed drone severed six power lines. The authorities assured that they were controlling the situation both in terms of electricity and water supplies.

In the morning, Iran attacked the Kuwait International Airport using “several drones”. The attack was said to have caused destruction, but no one was injured.

In another part of Kuwait, six transmission lines were knocked out of service after debris from intercepted drones fell on infrastructure.

The Middle East is still on fire

Since February 28, Israel and the US have been conducting airstrikes on Iran. In the first phase of the attacks, among others, died. the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. In response, Iran has shelled Israel and other Middle Eastern countries, hitting US military bases in the region – including Al-Udeid in Qatar – as well as civilian infrastructure.

In the face of the conflict in the region and the almost complete suspension of air traffic in the Persian Gulf region – including at the large airports in Doha and Dubai – Poland and other countries decided to evacuate their citizens stranded in the region.
