“Crocodiles absolutely everywhere.” The warning of the authorities for the inhabitants of a region in Australia

The police in a region of Australia, the Northern Territory, issued a warning on Sunday about the “presence of crocodiles everywhere” following large-scale floods, also emphasizing that more than 1,000 people have been evacuated, reports AFP, taken over by Agerpres.
Helicopters and airplanes were sent to the communities located in isolated areas in order to participate in the evacuation operations. “The situation could not be worse than that,” said the local Police Commander, Shaun Gill, in front of the journalists.
He revealed that at least 90 households are without electricity and warned the locals about the large presence of crocodiles. “There are crocodiles absolutely everywhere. Don't go swimming please! The message is very clear,” he added.
The Northern Territory experienced heavy rain over the weekend, with the city of Katherine experiencing its worst flooding since 1998.
Australian police evacuated more than 1,000 people from across the region on Saturday, sending helicopters and planes to isolated communities.
Several schools will remain closed on Monday due to flooding, Northern Territory Chief Minister Lia Finocchiaro announced.
Australia's vast Northern Territory is one of the least populated regions of the country and frequently experiences extreme weather conditions.
