Elias Charalambous, the coach who stayed the longest on the technical bench of FCSB, announced that he is parting ways with the Romanian champion. The Cypriot technician explained that he made this decision after the team failed to fulfill its main objective in the championship, qualifying for the play-offs.

Charalambous said that, in his opinion, the red-blue formation has very little chance of catching the places that lead to the European competitions. For this reason, he believes that a change on the technical bench could help the team to recover.

The coach stated that the decision to leave had already been made, regardless of the result of the match with Cluj University. In his opinion, the team needs a new impetus to overcome the mental block and better approach the next part of the season.

“The team is aiming to go to Europe. I think a shock is needed. It's my last day here. It was the last game. It's been two great years (no came on March 30, 2023), but someone has to take responsibility. It's a good shock for the team. The way we played today, there's no chance we'll go to Europe.
