“Hail of rockets and drones”. The Lithuanian Minister of Foreign Affairs reached Kiev


On Monday, June 9, Minister Kęstutis Budrys arrived in Kiev to meet with Ukrainian politicians and state officials. Lithuanian media first informed about the visit, and Budrys himself confirmed it in the post on the X. platform.
“Today I am in Kiev – a city marked by war, but unwavering. In recent weeks Russia has intensified rocket and drone attacksaimed at civil infrastructure, houses and even hospitals. This morning our train had to cross the hail of rockets and drones hitting the cities of Equal and Dubno. Just a few days ago, the attack on Kharkiv caused the death and injuries of dozens of people, including children. These are not accidents – these are deliberate acts of terror to break the will of Ukraine, “wrote the politician.
“However, Ukraine remains adamant, defending not only its territory, but also the principles of freedom and democracy in Europe. In fact, Ukraine defends Europe. The room will not come thanks to the concessions. The world must remain united in supporting Ukraine – military, economically and political. ” – he concluded.
In Kiev, the head of Lithuanian diplomacy is to meet, among others with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrij Sybihahead of the President's Chancellery Andrij Jermak and the defense minister Rustm Umerow.
The Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced that at the meetings the security of Ukraine's security will be discussed, the situation on the front line, international efforts aimed at making pressure on Russia to cease fire and announce a truce, priorities of military, diplomatic, financial and humanitarian aid, progress of Ukraine in the process of integration with the European Union and Russian discharge means.
This is Budrys' third visit to Ukraine since the Lithuanian Foreign Minister took the position. He last visited Ukraine on April 1.
