“I apologize to the neighboring countries that were attacked by Iran.” Unprecedented statement by President Masoud Pezeshkian

The leader in Tehran gave a televised speech on Saturday in which he blamed the recent bombings on the “self-initiative” of some military units, according to The New York Times and The Guardian.

“I apologize … to the neighboring countries that were attacked by Iran,” Pezeshkian said on state television.
