“Today we pay tribute to the heroes whose sacrifice was the foundation of the Romanian state and to all the soldiers who, through devotion and professionalism, through the missions they completed, contribute to the security of Romania and to the writing of our recent history. On November 11, 1918, the Armistice between the Entente powers and Germany was signed and entered into force, ending the First World War. On the same day, 85 years later, he fell to the line of duty in the theater of operations from Afghanistan post-mortem sub-lieutenant Iosif Silviu Fogaraşi”, Ilie Bolojan sent on Tuesday, according to a Government statement.

“When you fight for tomorrow, you build safety and confidence for future generations”

The Prime Minister also spoke about those who sacrificed themselves in such missions.

“Romania lost a total of 31 military in missions in theaters of operations, and over 200 were injured. Gratitude and respect for their sacrifice! Their model of action, dignity and courage inspires and guides us. They are among the heroes who showed us what it means to put the interest of the country and society before personal interest. They proved to us that when you fight for tomorrow, you build safety and confidence for future generations. And they always remind us that we cannot be good, neither individually nor as a society, without the security of our country. Thank you veterans of operating theaters for their contribution to what is today 🇷🇴 Romania: a free, safe and democratic country!”, it is also shown in the message.
