Earthquake with magnitude 3.1 in the Vrancea seismic zone. What time did it happen?

An earthquake with a magnitude of 3.1 occurred on the night of Tuesday to Wednesday, March 3-4, in the Vrancea seismic zone.

According to the National Research and Development Institute for Earth Physics, the earthquake occurred at 2:09 a.m. in Vrancea county.

It had a magnitude of 3.1 and occurred at a depth of 136 kilometers.

The earthquake occurred near the cities of Focșani (43 km), Buzău (57 km), Sfântu Gheorghe (69 km), Brașov (79 km), Ploiesti (91 km).

Another recent earthquake occurred on February 26, in the Vrancea seismic zone, and had a magnitude of 4.4.

The largest earthquakes of 2025, both with a magnitude of 4.4, occurred on February 13, in Buzău County, and on May 11, in Vrancea County.
