The consumer has every right to take photographs of goods on the sales floor of the store. This was stated in Rospotrebnadzor, answering a corresponding question from Krasnoyarsk.

The woman said that she was choosing a gift for her mother in the store and photographed various options to send to her brother and decide together. Noticing her actions, the security guard demanded that the photos be deleted from her phone, claiming that filming in the store was prohibited. Krasnoyarsk decided to find out from experts whether such actions are legal.
Rospotrebnadzor explained that in this situation the security guard’s demand has no legal basis.
“According to clause 2 of the Rules for the sale of goodsnot allowed in stores restriction of the rights of consumers to search and receive any information in any form from any source, including by photographing the product. An exception is places defined by the seller as areas not intended for free access by consumers. Thus, the consumer has every right to take photographs of goods on the sales floor of the store.”
