Starting from the 2027-2028 academic year in Russia, 9th grade students will take an oral history exam. As the Minister of Education Sergei Kravtsov said at a meeting of the Interdepartmental Commission on Historical Education, it will become an admission to the main exam.

Let us remind you that schoolchildren are already undergoing interviews in the Russian language. Now history will be added to them. The exams will be held in January-April, TASS reports.
As Kravtsov explained, the oral format will complement the existing historical essay on the Unified State Exam, allowing students to comprehensively test their knowledge.
The introduction of a new form of final certification was announced in advance so that teachers and students had time to prepare.
