The spokesman for the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zaharova, criticized in her press briefing on Thursday the authorities in Bucharest, amid the episode of the beginning of the week, in which four Ukrainian aircraft entered, for a few minutes, in the airspace of our country, as “” unintentionally “. “The Romanian authorities, it seems, are not inclined to reflect on the risks, to analyze the national policy from the perspective of the sovereign interests of the country and the people, ignoring the growing demand in society for a rational approach in issues related to Ukraine,” said the representative of Russian diplomacy.

“For them (the Romanian authorities, no) it is easier to count foreign airplanes in their own heaven and pretend that everything is fine. And this is better than if they were not there at all,” Zaharova said.

“Regarding the confirmation by the Ministry of National Defense of Romania the fact of using the Romanian airspace by the air forces of Ukraine for the dispersion of military aircraft, in order to avoid” ground “losses, this is perfectly in the logic of the official Bucharest, which consistently supports the Kiev regime, without the real, the de facto, National ”, insisted the ministry spokesman led by Sergei Lavrov, according to the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bucharest.

Other statements made by Maria Zaharova, within the press briefing on Thursday:

  • I took note by the press release of the Ministry of National Defense of Romania of July 21, 2025, in which it is mentioned that four Ukrainian military aircraft “have not entered, for a few minutes, in the air space” of Romania, to be saved by the Russian blows on the airport infrastructure in the western Ukraine.
  • The soothing messages, formulated with gentleness and addressed to the Romanian public, such as “everything is fine, came to ours”, do not represent a real threat to the national security, the life of the people or of the Romanian heritage, they suddenly contrast with the hysterical reaction of Bucharest, to the intense theme of the Romanian, the Romanian,
  • In addition, it should not be forgotten that the Ukrainian fighter aircraft collapsed periodically, as it happened on July 22, 2025 in the Volume region with a Mirage 2000 fighter plane. The Ukraine's armed forces received it from the French about half a year ago.
  • It is obvious that encouraging the adventures of Vladimir Zelenski's gang only to aggravate the catastrophic degradation of European security.

Ukrainian aircraft were detected, on Sunday night, in the airspace of Romania, after an attack by rockets and drones on military units in Ukraine, the Ministry of National Defense (MApN) announced on Monday, specifying that foreign aircraft have entered our space.

Around 03:00, the radar surveillance systems of the MApN reported air targets that have evolved on different flight paths in the Ukrainian airspace, north of the border with Romania, near the Maramureş – Suceava area.

The MApN said that after informing the structures that coordinate the civil air traffic, two Romanian F-16 aircraft were erected from the Borcea 86 Air Base, for air research missions, and around 05:00, it was given a take order for two Eurofighter Typhoon aircraft of the Italian Air Force, in the Airline service 57 Kogălniceanu.

“12 Ukrainian aerial targets were detected in the Ukrainian airspace, north of the border with Romania. Four of them entered, for a few minutes, in the air space of our country, in the Sighetu Marmatiei and Vicovu de Sus areas, without representing a real danger to the national security, the life of the Romanian,”

The institution stated that it permanently monitors the national and regional airspace, in close cooperation with NATO allies, to ensure the safety and territorial integrity of Romania.

“Although our country is not directly targeted, the development of struggles in Ukraine, in the vicinity of the national territory, as well as the attacks on the Ukrainian infrastructure impose measures to protect the Romanian citizens and the national infrastructure. The measures are gradually arranged and are adapted, depending on the category and nature of the threat, to prevent the production of the CSAT, The national defense system, public order and national security ”, the MApN said.
