Attacks against some policemen in Ukraine as well
In Lviv, western Ukraine, a 23-year-old policewoman was killed and a patrol car and a civilian vehicle were damaged after multiple explosive devices detonated on 22 February. The mayor of Lviv, Andrii Sadovii, qualified the incident as a terrorist act. Authorities have not revealed who was suspected of carrying out the attack.
Two days after the incident, on Monday evening, another explosion injured seven Ukrainian police officers in the southern Ukrainian city of Mykolaiv, two of them seriously, Ukrainian authorities announced.
The head of the Ukrainian national police, Ivan Vighivski, without giving details about the origin of the explosion, denounced “a targeted attack” by the “enemy” to kill Ukrainian police officers and “destabilize the country”.
Series of attacks in Moscow
In December 2025, two policemen were killed in an explosion in southern Moscow as they tried to stop a suspicious person near their vehicle, near where a Russian general had been killed days before.
Moreover, during the four years of war in Ukraine, a series of assassinations of Russian army officials took place on Russian territory.
Earlier this month, a senior Russian military intelligence officer was shot multiple times and wounded in an attack Moscow blamed on Kiev.
