As Vslukh.ru writes, it is customary to ask forgiveness from relatives, friends and colleagues for all voluntary or involuntary grievances. Traditional phrase: “Forgive me if you offended me (or offended me) in any way.” It’s better to do this in person or at least over the phone, and most importantly, to really let go of the grudge from your heart. The answer is: “God will forgive, and I forgive.”
In churches on this day, a special evening service is performed, where believers also ask for forgiveness from each other. Another tradition is to remember the dead and visit cemeteries.
There are many signs associated with this day. It is believed that the weather on Forgiveness Sunday will tell you what Easter will be like. The sun promises a warm spring, snow or rain – late spring and a mushroom year. Also on this day you cannot quarrel, harbor grudges, refuse help and skimp on treats. It is also better to put off hard work, cleaning, sewing and knitting – the day should be dedicated to spiritual things.
