There are about 10 agricultural tractors at the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office, but it has been announced that more will arrive soon. The farmers will hand the petition to the deputy voivode of Lower Silesia, Artur Jurkowski. Before noon they are to drive to the European Parliament Office in Wrocław at ul. View.

The spokesman for the Lower Silesian Voivode, Tomasz Jankowski, informed that due to the protest, the availability of parking spaces in front of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship Office is limited.

The agricultural protest may cause major difficulties for drivers, as pointed out by the spokesman of the City Headquarters in Wrocław, Comm. Wojciech Jabłoński. The police appealed for people to follow the regulations and officers' orders.

The protest was organized by the Solidarity Trade Union of Individual Farmers. Demonstrators draw attention to the “crisis in Polish agriculture and the lack of a policy to protect European agriculture by the European Commission with constantly increasing production costs.” Farmers also emphasize high energy costs and “the destruction of the economy by climate programs such as the Green Deal.”

Additional traffic difficulties in the center of Wrocław on Friday are also related to the removal of the effects of a water main failure that occurred on Thursday at ul. Traugutt.(PAP)
