General Director of SUEK-Krasnoyarsk Evgeny Yevtushenko met with Russian youth
As part of the career guidance and educational intensive “Change of the Future”, which took place in Sochi on the initiative of the Melnichenko Foundation, General Director of JSC SUEK-Krasnoyarsk Evgeny Evtushenko met with teenagers from different parts of the country, including 20 children from the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
In simple words, he told the schoolchildren how the work of open-pit coal mining enterprises works, which for decades have been supplying fuel, environmentally friendly according to world standards, to the generation stations of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and neighboring regions, providing heat and light to the homes of millions of residents, as well as industrial enterprises in Siberia and the Far East.
Young people learned what was behind billions of tons of production and were surprised by the scale of production: tens of millions of tons of coal annually, more than 5.5 thousand employees, high-tech production and significant investments in innovation, ecology and safety.
Evgeny Yevtushenko paid special attention to the topic of working with youth. He told how the company develops professional teams and professional classes, how to get professions that are in demand at fuel and energy companies at school, how SUEK-Krasnoyarsk helps you go from school to employed specialist, how hundreds of students today master professions under targeted programs and build a career in their small homeland.

Participants in “Change the Future” asked questions about the prospects for energy, the sustainability of industries in the face of change, and what qualities are valued in young professionals today; they asked a lot about the personal experience of the CEO. By the way, Evgeny Yevtushenko began his career as an apprentice repairman at the Borodino open-pit mine.
The discussion showed that for the new generation, the meaning of work, variability in career trajectories, economic sustainability, social responsibility of the employer and its attention to the environment are important.
“I was glad to communicate with such caring young people, received an incredible charge of energy and was once again convinced that our future lies with such enterprising guys. A lively dialogue took place, which gave me the opportunity to understand how our younger generation thinks and what they expect from the future. It’s great that the guys are interested, they don’t care what kind of world they will live in, where and how to build a career. And it’s great that we have something to offer them,” summed up Evgeny Yevtushenko, General Director of JSC SUEK-Krasnoyarsk.
