PNL deputy Alina Gorghiu said on Friday that the new analysis bulletins of the Argeș Public Health Directorate confirm the presence of Clostridium perfringens bacteria both at the Cerbureni treatment plant and in the water network in Curtea de Argeș.
Gorghiu said that, according to the analysis reports, the bacteria is also present at the exit from the treatment plant and in the distribution network.
“This means that the source of the problem has not been eliminated, and almost 50,000 citizens of Arges are still exposed to a real health risk,” declared the deputy from Argeș.
She believes that the surplus “over 30 million lei” from Curtea de Argeș City Hall should have been used “for urgent repairs to the treatment plant and the water network”.
“Worse, the PSD and USR councilors refused to appear at the Curtea de Argeș Local Council meeting, preventing the formation of a quorum, although the main item on the agenda was exactly the allocation of the budget surplus to the Aquaterm water company, to finance the necessary works. The project was initiated by the liberal councilors precisely to speed up the resolution of this crisis”, added Alina Gorghiu.
Liberala claims that “the deliberate absence from this meeting means blocking a concrete solution, while almost 50,000 people remain without drinking water”.
“The mayor has the obligation to ensure the financing from the local budget. The councilors have the obligation to be present and vote on the solutions. The people of Arges cannot wait indefinitely”, concluded Alina Gorghiu.
A state of alert was declared in Curtea de Argeș for 30 days last week, after the Argeș Public Health Directorate (DSP) announced that the Clostridium perfringens bacterium was detected in samples collected on February 6 in three points in the network, according to Europa Liberă Romania. In the municipality, the tap water has not been safe to drink for three months.
