The Romanian President Nicușor Dan is made on Sunday, a visit to the Republic of Moldova. He will be present at the events organized in Chisinau and Strășeni on the Day of the Romanian Language and will also meet with the President Maia Sandu.

The Romanian language day is celebrated on August 31 in the Republic of Moldova since 1990 and in Romania since 2011.

The program announced by the Presidential Administration begins in the morning:

  • 08:40 – reception by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, at the state residence;
  • 10:00 – participation in the event “Great National Dictation”, in the Great National Assembly Square in Chisinau;

“The speech of the President of Romania from the opening of the event will be transmitted through the unique live transmission system and on the website of the Presidential Administration,” says Cotroceniul.

The program of President Nicușor Dan continued with:

  • 11:15 – Flower deposit at the bust of the poet Mihai Eminescu in the municipality of Straseni;
  • 11:45 – Participation in the concert dedicated to the Day of the Romanian Language, at the Culture House in Strășeni.

Nicușor Dan has been twice in the Republic of Moldova in the 3 months of mandate

The Republic of Moldova was the country in which President Nicușor Dan made the first external visit, since taking over the mandate of the state. Nicușor Dan was on June 10 in the neighboring country, when Maia Sandu, Prime Minister Dorin Recean and the President of Parliament, Igor Grosu, met.

Nicușor Dan was in the Republic of Moldova and on an unofficial visit, at the beginning of August, when he participated, together with the president Maia Sandu, at the “Lupilor Festival” organized in the “Old Orheiul” Nature Reserve.
