An Estonian court sentenced an Israeli citizen to six and a half years in prison for spying for Russia, reports DPA, taken over by Agerpres.
The 50-year-old man was convicted of obtaining and passing on information to the Russian Federal Intelligence Service (FSB).
According to the court, he was involved in activities that undermined Estonia's security from 2016 until his arrest last year.

Prosecutors said the man provided the FSB with information about security agents and law enforcement agencies, as well as national defense targets, through electronic communication channels and during face-to-face meetings with FSB agents in Russia.
He would also have provided information about individuals who could be recruited for covert cooperation in Russia's interests. The accused would have been involved in acts of sabotage and would have helped the FSB organize an attempted escape to Russia of a detainee in Estonia who was being pursued by the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).
The verdict can be appealed.
