Lesosibirsk resident was convicted of daring robbery of a cash-in-transit vehicle

A resident of Lesosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk Territory, was not imprisoned for stealing a large sum of money from a cash-in-transit vehicle.
According to the prosecutor's office, the crime was committed in the summer of 2020. The 33-year-old convict was pushed to do so by an acquaintance who knew well how the system of secure transportation of cash from city stores was organized.
The accomplices carefully planned and prepared everything. On the appointed day and at the appointed time, the person involved in wearing a medical mask, cap, gloves and with a hammer, he approached a parked cash-in-transit vehicle and, opening the unlocked door, stole a bag with proceeds from a local grocery store in the amount of 800 thousand rubles. Then he I got into a friend’s car and they disappeared, disposing of the money as they wished.
“For a long time this crime remained unsolved. However, after a while, wanting to live his future life according to his conscience, the defendant decided to relieve himself of the heavy burden of responsibility and independently confessed, reporting what he had done. Subsequently, he actively contributed to the detection and investigation of the crime, as well as the exposure of his accomplice,” the prosecutor’s office said.
The raider admitted guilt and voluntarily compensated for part of the damage caused in the amount of 400 thousand rubles. The court found him guilty of robbery committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy on a large scale (paragraphs “a”, “e”, Part 2 of Article 161 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation) and sentenced him to compulsory labor for a period of 460 hours. Note that the maximum sanction of this article provides imprisonment for up to 7 years.
The criminal prosecution against the accomplice was dropped due to his death.
