The mayor's office spoke about clearing Krasnoyarsk of drug-containing plants

In Krasnoyarsk this year, more than 70 sites have been cleared of drug-containing plants. This was reported to the mayor's office.

Prohibited and dangerous plants are discovered during raids carried out by administration and police officers from summer to late autumn. Drug-containing plants are found among greenery and dead wood in different areas of the city.

“These are mainly areas of open ground that are overgrown with grass. They are found in high-rise residential areas, in vacant lots, and in private sector neighborhoods. Drug-containing plants most often enter urban areas with imported soil. Another way is seed mixtures, which are used to renew lawns and flower beds. You cannot simply weed out such plants; they must be disposed of in a certain way in a special oven. Only licensed organizations can do this. They are determined based on the results of competitive procedures. The contractor executing the municipal contract is obliged to record in photos or videos the facts of the growth of such grass before destruction, after which reports are submitted to law enforcement agencies,” the administration explained.

At the expense of budget funds, work is carried out on plots of municipal land and on undemarcated territory. In yards or on private territory, management organizations or owners must organize the destruction of drug-containing plants.

Citizens can report places where dangerous grass grows to the police or district administration in any way, including by phone or through social networks.
