The report states that the incident occurred in front of the house where the couple has lived for 10 years. According to the Ukrainian woman, a taxi driver with passengers in the cabin, despite the entry ban, drove into a narrow street and blocked the exit of other cars. When her husband tried to leave, the taxi driver noticed the Ukrainian license plates and shouted: “Go to Ukraine!”
After Anastasia herself asked him to clear the road, he called her a “whore” and sprayed tear gas from a can in her face and in the face of her husband. The woman is five months pregnant.
The passengers who were in the taxi ran out of the car in panic. The taxi driver almost ran over one of them when leaving, the center wrote. They all fled the scene.
“The police are investigating the case under Article 257 of the Criminal Code (violation of personal integrity on the basis of nationality). This carries a penalty of up to three years in prison. The center provides legal assistance to victims. This incident demonstrates what we have long warned about: the anti-Ukrainian narrative is fueling the growing disdain for Ukrainians in Poland. Far-right groups openly support Russian propaganda, participating in a hybrid war against Poland. Its goal is to incite social unrest and hostility towards Ukrainians,” the release says.
