Deputy Mayor of Vaslui, sentenced to work for the benefit of the community within the City Hall he runs

Vasile Cararia, deputy mayor of Muntenii de Jos commune, from Vaslui county, was sentenced to one year and two months in prison, with suspension, after giving a false certificate to a person forced to make hours for the benefit of the community.

Vaslui Court convicted him, on May 28, for committing the crimes of intellectual false and use. The court decision can be appealed. If the decision remains final, then the deputy mayor would have to do 30 days of work for the benefit of the community at the town hall he runs or to the schools in the commune, who are also subordinated, according to the new weather.

“Based on art. 85, para. 2, letter. b) of the Criminal Code, requires the defendant to execute the obligation to perform unpaid work for the benefit of the community for a period of 30 days, within the City Hall of Muntenii de Jos, Vaslui county, or of the general school in the home locality, unless, due to the state of health, it cannot perform this work.”, It is shown in the decision of the Vaslui Court.

The conviction does not prohibit the right to have a public office, so Vasile Cărărie can remain the deputy mayor of the commune until the mandate expires. It remains to be seen who will deal with the supervision of his work for the benefit of the community, considering that so far he was the responsible person, as deputy mayor. Nor did he do it properly, especially since the local chosen was sent to court in 2024, precisely because he falsified the timing of a person who was made to work for the community.

The deputy mayor was accused by the prosecutors of drawing up a certificate on behalf of a convicted person, who was obliged to perform days for the benefit of the community at the City Hall of Muntenii de Jos, without having performed any activity, being even leaving the country.

“In the complaint, it was held that the defendant Cararia Vasile, as deputy mayor and person responsible for the supervision of unpaid work within the City Hall of Muntenii de Jos, in the exercise of the duties, has falsely prepared the certificate no. 7098/15.09.2021, the form of records of hours with 8 hours of work performed each working day, documents that he sent to the case-responsible case counselor on 15.09.2021”, It is shown in the file of the Vaslui Court, according to the quoted source.

The judges also decided to cancel the certificate prepared by the deputy mayor, so that the person who benefited from that document will have to perform, finally, the work for the benefit of the community.
