This year, residents of Russia began to select river tours in advance. For April and the first half of May, Internet traffic on resources for booking such cruises increased by 12 % compared to the same period last year. At the same time, one of the trends of the new navigation season was river routes through small cities and villages, the joint analyst of MegaFon, Doninurflot and Cruise.ru testifies.

The growing dynamics on sites for reservation of tours is observed in the middle of spring. For comparison, in 2024, users actively chose cruises in the summer months, that is, directly in the high season of shipping. The change was affected by both the increase in navigation time and the development of the industry within the country.

In addition to Muscovites and Petersburgers, residents of regions on the Volga are most often interested in cruise rest: Nizhny Novgorod, Samara regions and Tatarstan. Among foreign tourists, guests from Turkey, Belarus, China, Egypt and Armenia show the greatest attention to river tours in Russia.

In Siberia, Khakassia showed the most active increase for the year – an increase of 48 %. On thematic sites more often than last year, residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (+43 %), the Tomsk region (+23 %), the Angara region (+8 %) also come in. The peak of interest in river travels at the Siberians fell on the first half of April.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, interest in river tours is observed in women – their share is 56 %. The most significant age group is 35-44 years, which account for 33 % armor cruises.

Top preferences of tourists lead the routes between Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as cruises on the Volga with a call to Nizhny Novgorod, Samara, Saratov and other cities along the river. The capital of the country is expected to lead in the ranking of cities of sailing, and lovers of water walks arrive most often in St. Petersburg, Kazan and Astrakhan. In the eastern part of Russia, tourists mainly book the Yenisei cruises with a start in Krasnoyarsk and river routes along the Ob with departure from Novosibirsk.

One of the noticeable trends of this season is cruises with stops in small cities, villages, villages and villages (for example, in the aunt, Hyidenselga, Sortaval, Goritsa, Plesa, Kineshma, Myshkin, Romanov and Starocherkasskaya).

In 40 % of cases, tourists choose cruises for four to six days. Every fifth tourist (about 20 %) prefers long travels in seven to eight days. However, in 2025, the demand for short tours lasting three days and two nights is also growing. For new tourists, this is an opportunity to test a cruise vacation, immerse yourself in its atmosphere, find out features, analysts say. So, 20 % of vacationers who went on a three -day cruise in 2024 booked longer trips in the upcoming season.
