Poland, Germany and France want to create direct railway connections between these countries, Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak announced on Tuesday, after a meeting with his counterparts from Germany and France, during which a document on cooperation in the field of transport was signed.

On Tuesday, Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak met with German Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder and French Transport Minister Philippe Tabarot. The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Defense Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.

The meeting, as Klimczak reported, concerned strengthening the resilience of the transport system, military mobility and infrastructure financing. He added that an agreement on cooperation in the field of railway, road and maritime transport had been signed.

– We would like to establish connections (railway – PAP) between Warsaw, Berlin and Paris, (…) create direct connections. We want to create the best railway network in the world, and the best railway network in the world is the European railway network, which will be reinforced with high-speed railways – said the head of the Polish Ministry of Infrastructure at the conference.

He emphasized that Tuesday's meeting was a tightening of cooperation between Poland, Germany and France, which “went very well”, among others. during the Polish Presidency of the Council of the European Union.
