The discussion about the first lady's salary concerns not only financial issues, but also the recognition of her role in state structures.

“A serious state must take the most important offices seriously. The first lady blames her previous activities – regardless of what she has undertaken: whether she was, like President Kornhauser-Duda, a teacher, or like President Nawrocka – she worked in the services,” Zbigniew Bogucki said on Radio ZET.
The head of the Chancellery of the President added that establishing a salary for the first lady is “no big deal.” “The Polish state can afford to regulate this issue. This is a natural consequence of electing my spouse as president,” Bogucki emphasized.

The Head of the Chancellery of the President did not indicate the specific amount that the First Lady should receive. However, he admitted that the remuneration should be “decent” and refer to the average earnings of Poles. “In fact, the first lady performs a certain form of office. She is not outside the state administration, but is naturally related to the function of her spouse,” Bogucki added on Radio ZET.

During the conversation, the journalist asked the head of the Chancellery of the President whether Karol Nawrocki would personally submit a project regarding the salary of the first lady. Zbigniew Bogucki replied that it was not a matter of the president's initiative, but of “the normal ordering of affairs in Poland.” “We are talking about one person in a country of 38 million citizens who cuts himself off from his earning and professional opportunities,” commented Bogucki.
