Ukraine has agreed with its European allies on new packages of energy and military support, which will be provided to Kiev on the fourth anniversary of the launch of the large-scale Russian invasion on February 24, 2022, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced on Sunday.
Kiev is seeking additional support from its allies as it struggles to fend off Russian advances on the battlefield and Russian airstrikes on its energy system, while under pressure from the US to negotiate peace.
“In Munich (at the Security Conference, no), we agreed with the leaders of the Berlin Format on specific energy and military aid packages for Ukraine, until February 24,” wrote Volodymyr Zelensky on the X platform.
He had declared on Friday, after a meeting of the so-called Berlin Format, attended by around 12 European leaders, on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, that he hoped for new aid from the European supporters of Ukraine, including air defense missiles.
“I am grateful to our partners for their willingness to help, and we count on the prompt arrival of all deliveries,” Zelenskiy added on X.
