The head of the Investigative Committee ordered to speed up the investigation into the death of a baby in Krasnoyarsk

Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin gave instructions on the criminal case regarding the death of a baby in Krasnoyarsk. The reason was the appeal of the child’s mother to the Information Center of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation.

According to the department, in 2023, during pregnancy, doctors identified a pathology of fetal development in a woman. After birth, the girl required urgent surgery, but the necessary medical care was not provided in a timely manner. A short time later the child died.

Krasnoyarsk stated that it does not agree with the course of the investigation. She noted that the case is dragging on, and no one has yet been brought to justice.

The criminal case has been under investigation by the Main Investigative Directorate of the Russian Investigative Committee for the Krasnoyarsk Territory since April 2024. Previously, Alexander Bastrykin already ordered a report on this situation.

Now the head of the department has instructed the head of the regional department, Alexey Eremin, to speed up the investigation and report on its results. The execution of the order has been placed under control in the central office of the Investigative Committee.
