Among the 16 projects inspected on the support of the diversification of the activities of the HoReca industry from the KPO there were irregularities, but “it was not 16 out of 16”-informed the Funds Minister Katarzyna Pełczyńska-Nałęcz. She added that she has knowledge about the results of the inspection, but first the entrepreneurs will meet them.

The minister was asked about the results of the inspection in Patek in the evening during a meeting with the inhabitants of Lublin. She stated that there were irregularities among the 16 projects inspected. “They were, but it wasn't 16 out of 16,” she said.
There are doubts around the subsidy to diversify activities for enterprises from HoReCa sectors that have suffered as a result of a pandemic; According to media reports, the company received subsidies from KPO, including for company yachts. Pełczyńska-Nałęcz announced that this week the first 16 projects would be audited, which were “considered doubtful”.
On Friday, the minister admitted that he already has knowledge about the results of the inspection, but he wants entrepreneurs to know them first and have the opportunity to appeal. -Only then will I leave and inform-said Pełczyńska-Nałęcz.
She announced that another few dozen projects will be checked in the following weeks. “These are the most risky projects that we mapped,” she added.

As she said, operators are checked with the control of beneficiaries in terms of possible conflicts of interest.
The head of the MFIPR pointed out that people “must have a sense of security of using public money”, so there will be no “cutting heads after one -day control.”
– If we want Polish entrepreneurs to want to use support, which will then drive us development, they must feel that this is not a situation, that just behind this money, some feverish politicians will come and start cutting their heads and demolish their image on the internet – she said.
Last week, payments were suspended until the contracts were verified. The minister assured that payments would be resumed after verifying the contracts. The investigation into the use of Polish KPO in the Horeca sector was initiated by the European Prosecutor's Office (EPPO).
According to PARP data, 3005 contracts with entrepreneurs (each contract with a different company) were signed as part of Horec support from KPO funds. As at the end of July, entrepreneurs were paid PLN 110 million from the total support amount PLN 1.24 billion.
