More than 3,000 stores in the Krasnoyarsk Territory have connected to the digital age verification system

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, the implementation of a system for verifying the age of buyers using a digital profile in the MAX messenger continues. To date, more than 3,000 stores in the region have already connected to it – from large federal and regional chains to small retail outlets.

As the Ministry of Industry and Trade said, the system’s operating algorithm is simple and safe. When selling a product with an age restriction (alcohol, tobacco products, energy workers) self-checkout or cashier requests confirmation. The buyer creates a one-time QR code in the MAX application in the “Digital Profile” section. After scanning it, the data is verified via a secure channel with government information systems and the cashier receives an instant response. The processing of personal data takes place in accordance with legal requirements.

The operation of the system was personally tested by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Irina Panina:

“Digital proof of age has proven its efficiency and reliability. The buyer spends a matter of seconds, and the store receives reliable confirmation of compliance with age restrictions. This is a clear example of how digitalization makes everyday processes more convenient and safer: there is no need for paper documents and queues disappear. I am confident that this project has the potential to scale up in the region’s retail trade.”
