In South Korea, they called the date of the election of the new president

The government will approve the date of vote in the coming week, the agency claims.

On April 4, the Constitutional Court approved the impeachment of President Yun Suk El after his attempt to introduce martial law in the country. According to the law, the elections should be held within 60 days after that.

The National Electoral Commission began early registration of candidates immediately after the removal of the former head of state, writes Yonhap. If the government approves the schedule, the candidates will have to register until May 11, and the official period of the election campaign will begin on May 12, the report said.
