TISZA's new direction. Rebuilding relations with Warsaw, energy reform

TISZA won't support the migration pact either?
Anita Orban, responsible for foreign policy at TISZY, emphasized that the group intends to strengthen Hungary's position in the European Union and NATO if it wins the parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12. Orban announced that the future government of TISZA will not accept the current EU budget for 2027, will not support the migration pact or accelerated accession of Ukraine to the Community. She also expressed opposition to illegal migration, declaring that the wall on the border with Serbia would be maintained. — We must rebuild Polish-Hungarian relations and conduct professional and responsible diplomacy, she emphasized.
Relations between Budapest and Warsaw have deteriorated in recent years, mainly due to differences in approach to the war in Ukraine and the aid provided to the country by the European Union. An additional flashpoint is the protection that the Hungarian authorities gave to former justice ministers Marcin Romanowski and Zbigniew Ziobro, who were wanted by the Polish prosecutor's office.
Moving away from imports from Russia and more renewable energy sources
In the field of energy, TISZA announces ambitious changes. Istvan Kapitany, responsible for the group's energy policy, announced that Hungary is to end its dependence on Russian energy resources by 2035 and by 2040 to double the share of renewable energy in the country's energy mix. — TISZA will also reduce utility bills, reduce VAT on firewood and launch an energy modernization program, announced Kapitany.
The party's program also provides for tax cuts, including the complete abolition of VAT on prescription drugs, as well as an increase in social benefits. TISZA promises to maintain the 13th and 14th pensions introduced by Viktor Orban's government and to increase health care spending to 7%. GDP by 2030. According to independent polls, TISHA is ahead of Viktor Orban's currently ruling Fidesz by several to a dozen or so percentage points. Parliamentary elections, which may decide the future of Hungary, will be held on April 12.
