The entire episode of the Polish -Belarusian border in the Podlasie Voivodeship is already covered by modern monitoring – the Ministry of the Interior and Administration said on Sunday.
“The Border Guard received an electronic barrier built on the border rivers Świsłocz and Istoczanka. The modernization of the electronic barrier along the existing technical dam has also ended,” said the ministry on platform X.

On Saturday, the spokesman of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Jacek Dobrzyński announced that the number of foreigners recently attempting to get to Poland through the border with Belarus has recently increased. At the same time, he assured that the approaches to the dam, and even more so attempts to cross the border illegally, were immediately detected.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced on Friday that soon the government would start an information campaign in seven countries, from which the largest number of migrants come to illegally cross the Polish border. Our message will be simple: the Polish border is tight – he emphasized.
On March 27, a regulation entered into force on the temporary limitation of the right to submit an application for international protection. Limiting the right to asylum will apply for 60 days. The limitation period will be able to be extended for another – not longer than 60 – period, after consent by the Sejm.
On 186 km of border with Belarus, it is built in 2022 – a 5.5 m steel dam. It is the main element of securing this border against illegal migration. It is complemented by the so -called An electronic barrier that includes a dam and river sections. Last year, both dams were modernized, additional horizontal spans were installed on Stalowa, as well as concertin coils.
From June 13, 2024, there is a buffer zone on the Podlasie section of the Polish-Belarusian border, which was introduced on the basis of the Ministry of Interior and Administration. For the third time (from March 10 this year), it was extended for another 90 days, as well as extended and currently covers the length of the border over a section of 78.29 km in the Hajnów poviat and part of the Białystok poviat, it is about the area of operation of the SG branches in Michałów, Narewka, Białowieża, Dubicz Cerkiewne and cherry. At nearly 60 km of border, you must not stay in a belt 200 meters wide from the border line, over a section of over 15 kilometers located in the area of nature reserves, the PAS is about 2 km wide, and on a section of nearly 3.8 km the width of the zone is about 4 km.
