“The object is heavily damaged.” Darnitskaya CHPP in Kyiv temporarily suspended work after the Russian strike

“As a result of another enemy attack on the city’s energy infrastructure, the provision of services has been temporarily suspended,” the statement said.

The company noted that its specialists, together with the relevant services, carry out comprehensive technical examinations and the necessary restoration measures.

“The extent of the damage requires step-by-step solutions and a thorough check of the equipment before further operation of the heat supply system. Further changes in the operation of the enterprise will be announced additionally,” the message says.

The website of Euro-Reconstruction LLC states that CHPP-4 serves 1,133 residential buildings in Kyiv.

The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, reported during the day on Telegram that more than 1,100 houses in the Darnitsky and Dneprovsky districts remain without heat after a massive Russian attack on the critical infrastructure of the capital.

“The infrastructure that provides heat supply to these houses was severely damaged last night. Experts are assessing the extent of its damage and the prospects for restoration. In these more than 1,100 houses, the water in the heating systems was drained in the morning to prevent freezing,” the mayor of Kyiv wrote.
