Netanyahu emphasized that Israeli forces have already struck key elements of Iran's military capabilities, including missile systems, weapons factories and scientists associated with Tehran's nuclear program. “Iran is weaker, we are stronger,” the Israeli leader noted.
Netanyahu also argued that the Iranian regime's goal is to develop nuclear weapons and the means to attack the US with them. “This war is about preventing such an outcome,” he said.
The war began on February 28 with the American-Israeli bombing of Iran, which killed, among others, the country's supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Tehran responded by striking US bases in the Middle East and targets in Israel, as well as military and civilian infrastructure in the Persian Gulf countries.
