
Ukrainian culinary YouTube blogger Liliya Tsvit told how to make delicious fried pies with cabbage from the simplest ingredients.
“Today I offer you a very simple and incredibly tasty recipe for pies with cabbage. Look how fluffy and soft they turn out. Save the recipe, cook, treat your family and enjoy,” the blogger noted.
Products:
- 20 g pressed yeast;
- one tablespoon of sugar;
- 130 ml water;
- 700 g flour;
- one egg;
- two tablespoons of sour cream;
- one tablespoon of vodka;
- one teaspoon of salt;
- 300 ml milk;
- 60 ml vegetable oil.
Filling:
- two onions;
- one carrot;
- cabbage;
- 250 ml vegetable oil for frying.
Preparation
- Mash the yeast with sugar. Add lukewarm water and stir.
- Add five tablespoons of flour from the total amount, knead the batter as if for pancakes, and leave in a warm place for 15 minutes until bubbles appear.
- Add vodka, egg, warm milk, sour cream, salt and the remaining flour to the dough.
- Knead the dough, add vegetable oil at the end and knead well for about 15 minutes.
- Cover and leave in a warm place for one hour. While the dough is rising, prepare the filling.
- Fry the onion until transparent, add grated carrots. Simmer for a few minutes and add finely shredded cabbage.
- Add tomato paste, salt, pepper, smoked paprika and spices to taste.
- Simmer the filling until done.
- Place the dough on a greased work surface, divide into pieces and form into balls.
- Flatten each ball with your hands, lay out the filling and mold the pies, pinching the edges well.
- Let the pies sit for a few minutes.
- Fry them in vegetable oil on both sides until golden brown.
- Place the finished pies on a paper towel to remove excess fat.
