United Russia deputies spoke about bills to be considered in the State Duma at the spring session

Deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation gathered at the first plenary meeting last week. The spring session will be the final one for the State Duma of the eighth convocation; parliamentary elections will be held in the fall.

Before the start of the session, deputies analyzed the results of the convocation and outlined plans for the coming months. The agenda is extensive, several important initiatives will be considered in the first reading, including bills on increasing the requirements for organizing children's recreation, as well as on benefits for widows of special operation participants. When entering universities and colleges, they will be provided with a separate quota for budget-funded places without exams.

Another project is about mobile pharmacy points. In addition, United Russia will continue to work on social support for vulnerable categories of citizens and families with children.

State Duma deputies from the Krasnoyarsk Territory shared their plans for the spring session with ER.RU.

Deputy Chairman of the Defense Committee Yuri Shvytkin:

“During the spring session of the State Duma, we will focus our efforts on implementing the message of the President of Russia and resolving the issues of the residents of our country. Key areas of work will be providing social guarantees for SVO participants and members of their families, demographic issues, including support for large families. Particular attention will be paid to protecting state sovereignty from foreign interference. My colleagues and I will review initiatives aimed at clarifying the status and restrictions regarding foreign agents. Measures to combat illegal migration will be strengthened. The priority is also the implementation of national development tasks set by our President. The State Duma intends to promptly make the necessary legislative decisions to achieve its goals.”

Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Industry and Trade Alexander Drozdov:

“The most important historical events occurred during our convocation: recognition of the independence of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, the return of new territories to Russia, the Northern Military District and comprehensive legislative support for our defenders and their families, the restructuring of domestic industry in conditions of economic war, support for domestic producers and the strengthening of the defense industry. Ahead, in addition to work in the regions, 1,078 bills are being considered in the State Duma, 845 of which are being prepared for the first reading.”

Member of the Committee on Transport and Transport Infrastructure Development Sergei Eremin:

“We have over a thousand bills before us. Our duty is an ironclad priority: full support of the Northern Military District. The historical correctness of the operation became even more obvious. The goals must be achieved, and our front here is the creation of an indestructible rear: caring for the soldiers and their families. At the same time, we are building the future: a strong family and children are our strategic reserve. Conditions for them must not only be created, but built as a system of national development.”

Member of the Committee for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Alexey Weller:

“The beginning of the spring session of the State Duma is taking place in a difficult geopolitical situation, in conditions of high responsibility to the country. The legislative portfolio includes more than a thousand bills, and these are not just numbers, but a reflection of the large-scale and systematic work that lies ahead of the deputy corps. Before the start of the session, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin very clearly formulated that legislative support for a special military operation remains an absolute priority for us. Practice and time have confirmed the correctness and necessity of the decisions made. Our task is to create a solid legal basis for achieving the goals of the military service, supporting military personnel and their families, as well as the sustainable operation of the economy in these conditions. An equally important area of the spring session will be support for families with children. This is a strategic issue directly related to the future of the country, demographic development and social stability. We are not talking about one-time measures, but about building a long-term system of family support at all stages – from the birth of a child to his growing up. The spring session will be intense and require informed decisions. Despite the fact that this is the last session of the current convocation and elections for a new deputy corps will take place in September of this year, the State Duma is focused on the result – the adoption of laws that meet the needs of citizens and strengthen the sovereignty and stability of Russia.”

Member of the Committee on Tourism and Tourist Infrastructure Development Natalya Kaptelinina:

“The main priorities for the session are legislative support for the conduct of SVO, support for families with children, strengthening the protection of citizens from the actions of fraudsters, protecting the health of children and organizing their recreation. Thus, already at this meeting, important bills on improving the quality of children’s recreation, the law “On the circulation of medicines,” and on additional leave of up to 35 calendar days for combat veterans were adopted in the first reading. Another measure of support for family members of SVO participants will be the right for widows and widowers of fighters to enroll in universities and colleges for free without entrance examinations. The bill aimed at this was adopted in the first reading.”
