Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Aragchi warned that his country's armed forces are ready to respond “with a finger on the trigger” immediately to any aggression. The spokesman for Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps assured that Iran had prepared operational plans for all scenarios.

Trump has repeatedly threatened Iran with intervention if the country's authorities continue to kill participants of the mass anti-government demonstrations that have been ongoing there until recently. He also said that the US would react if Tehran resumes its nuclear program after last year's US and Israeli airstrikes on Iran's key nuclear facilities.
