Cătălin Predoiu, Minister of Internal Affairs and PNL leader, denied any alleged involvement or the institution he leads in Tiktok's decision to suspend the account of journalist Ion Cristoiu.
The Liberal explained that the journalist “can obtain direct clarification from the representatives of Tiktok” in terms of the reasons that led to the suspension of his account.
“I categorically reject any supposed involvement of mine or the Ministry of Internal Affairs/General Directorate of Internal Protection in the closure, by the Tiktok platform, the account of Mr. Ion Cristoiu. Mr. Cristoiu can obtain direct clarification from the representatives of Tiktok regarding the reasons for suspending his account. And I reject it firmly, “said Cătălin Predoiu, on Saturday, in a Facebook post.
What did Ion Cristoiu say about the suspension of the tiktok account
Ion Cristoiu, who claims that in three months he collected 7.4 million appreciations on Tiktok, told Hotnews that on March 25 he received a warning for a video commenting on a statement made by Prime Minister Ciolacu, but that later the network motivated the suspension with previous posts, from January and February, for which he had not received any warning.
The journalist stated that he appealed, according to the regulation, against the warning received on March 25th.
“Of course they responded in the style of the wood language and, after that, they told me nothing. I woke up today with the suspended account. The arguments are posts from January and February,” said Cristoiu.
He argues that for the suspension of a Tiktok account “you have to have more warnings”: “I only have one, they took the latter. But they were not with a warning in January.”
Ion Cristoiu said he did not have a violent language in the videos on Tiktok, but that they were “bolder.”
“There were bolder clips. For example, the one who was with the first warning left from Marcel Ciolacu's statements that the elections were renamed to cancel. I said that the CCR had received directions, about what he said, to renounce the votes to cancel them. It was a point of view.
The statement to which Ion Cristoiu refers was made by Marcel Ciolacu on March 25, after being asked if the state worked impeccably, in the context in which last year's elections were canceled.
“The one who had to answer was the president in the exercise, he is the CSAT head, he has the most information. That he did not manage correctly, you think I did not notice that such an annulment of the elections on the Renume, I understood all the things.
