Former Spanish Socialist Prime Minister Felipe Gonzalez estimated on Tuesday that Donald Trump is a “completely crazy” president, who treats the whole world as if it were “his maid” and managed to “disrupt everything that had a glimmer of world order”, therefore the EU must react and try to impose respect, reports the EFE agency, quoted by Agerpres.

In a public dialogue organized by two foundations, one of which bears his name, Felipe Gonzalez attributed to Trump the collapse of the international order structured in the post-war period.

“I personally think, and I say it with all due respect, that (Trump) is completely crazy,” the former Spanish prime minister said. “A fool given power destroys his people,” added Felipe Gonzalez. “Nothing is worse than a fool in power,” insisted the one who led the government in Madrid between 1982 and 1996.

In his analysis, he described Trump as a leader who treats the rest of the world as if it were his “handmaiden”, and on the other hand, he has accelerated the fragmentation of the world into spheres of influence and contributed to the amplification of an environment of global instability, with the leader in the White House thus ending up “disturbing everything that had a glimmer of world order”.

How to describe the European Union

“If 20% of the population owns more than 80% of the wealth, then it's not good,” warned the former Spanish Socialist Prime Minister, who thus warned of increasing social tensions globally as a result of increasing social inequalities.

However, he said he was not pessimistic about the future, although he insisted that “those who invest are making a lot of money” while imbalances persist which he believes will eventually lead to social unrest.

As for the European Union, the former Spanish Prime Minister described it as a “catatonic” (psychomotor manifestation of schizophrenia, characterized by a state of fixing the body in certain positions, stereotyped behavior and mental stupor) and excessively bureaucratized structure that “regulates everything that others create”. According to Felipe Gonzalez, the EU has lost its vision and capacity for initiative, but in the current context generated by Trump it must react and try to impose respect.
