January 27, 1936

The 1st regional meeting of leading agricultural workers took place. At the meeting, the results of the work of 1935 and the tasks facing rural workers were discussed.

The meeting participants accepted socialist commitments for 1936 and assured the party and government that the assigned tasks would be achieved.

The newspaper “Birobidzhan Star” (12+) in the article “At the regional meeting of agricultural leaders” wrote about it like this:

“Moving on to summing up the results of work in our region, Comrade Anshin points out that this year the sown area has increased significantly and at the same time the harvest should increase. He says that this year the region will receive 40 combines and 90 tractors. With such technical equipment in agriculture, we can and must achieve a harvest of at least 15 centners per hectare this year.”

The Bureau of the Regional Party Committee considered the issue of communist education in schools. It was noted that during the Great Patriotic War, schools in the region began to restructure educational work in the light of the requirements of the party.

In the process of teaching, the material being studied is linked to events at the fronts, instilling in students a love for the Motherland and hatred of the Nazi invaders.

Military-defense work in schools has improved significantly: rifle training is being conducted, PVC and GTO standards are being passed, girls are attending nursing courses.

Schools provide great assistance to the front: teachers in the Smidovichi district contributed 28,014 rubles to the Defense Fund, and students donated 5,718 rubles in cash. In the Birsky district, 1,520 warm clothes were handed over. Tens of tons of scrap metal have been collected.

In the schools of the region, there are seven groups of tractor drivers (156 people), a group of combine operators – 29 people, three groups of drivers – 109 people. The task has been set to strengthen efforts to further involve school students and teachers in providing all possible assistance to the front.

By decision of the Regional Executive Committee, the street in the village of Zarechye was given the name Rabochaya.

January 27, 1960

The first secretary of the regional committee of the CPSU, A.K. Cherny, spoke at the X Khabarovsk regional party conference. He noted that in two years the volume of industrial production increased by 37%, including 18% in 1959.

New production buildings for the rolling mill, shoe factories and a number of other enterprises came into operation. More than 80 million rubles were spent during this time on capital construction. Collective and state farms developed 15 thousand hectares of new land, increased the number of cattle by 66 percent, cows by 46%, and poultry by almost 4 times. He assured that the working people of the region will fulfill the socialist obligations of the seven-year plan.

January 27, 1971

The meeting of the regional party and economic activists discussed the results of work for 1970 and the tasks of the region's workers to fulfill the tasks of 1971 – the first year of the Ninth Five-Year Plan. It was noted that workers of industrial enterprises fulfilled the state plan for the sale of products and the production of most of the most important products ahead of schedule, on December 23. Products worth 4,825 thousand rubles were sold in excess of the plan, with a commitment of 4 million rubles. The increase in industrial output was achieved due to increased labor productivity. The 1970 plans for the volume of construction and installation work, obligations to commission housing, hospitals, schools, and livestock buildings have been fulfilled. Rail and road transport met the obligations of the anniversary year for the above-planned transportation of goods. Signalmen commissioned additional PBX capacity for 1,250 numbers and deployed a television repeater in the village of Leninskoye. Agricultural enterprises in the region fulfilled socialist obligations to sell grain, potatoes and vegetables to the state by 110%, meat by 113%, and milk by 123%.

January 27, 1973

A meeting of the regional party and economic activists was held to discuss the results of the implementation of the state plan and the socialist obligations of the first two years of the five-year plan and the socialist obligations of the region's workers to fulfill the tasks of 1973 ahead of schedule, the decisive year of the ninth five-year plan. Over the two years of the Five-Year Plan, sales of industrial products increased by 13.4%, with the entire increase due to increased labor productivity. Its growth over two years was 14.6%. During the same period, the production of consumer goods increased by 19.8. Village workers, in difficult weather conditions, ensured the fulfillment of the plan for selling bread to the state by 130%, potatoes by 122%; 6.3 thousand tons more than in 1971, vegetables were sold. The activist participants accepted the socialist obligations of the region's workers to complete the 1973 tasks ahead of schedule.

January 27, 1992

By the Decree of the President of the Russian Federation “On the appointment of heads of administrations of cities and regional centers of the Russian Federation”, the head of the administration of the city of Birobidzhan was appointed. In connection with the liquidation of the Birobidzhan City Executive Committee, the administration of the city of Birobidzhan was formed. Viktor Bolotnov became the head of the administration.

January 27, 2004

An agreement on trade, economic, scientific, technical and socio-cultural cooperation was signed between the mayor's office of Birobidzhan and the mayor's office of Khabarovsk.

January 27, 2011

By the decision of the City Duma of the municipal formation “City of Birobidzhan”, the newly formed lane was given the name Torgovy (it has an address landmark: 20 m south of house No. 9 on Sholom Aleichem Street).
