Raul Rusescuthe former footballer from FCSBanalyzed on GSP Live the victory of the red-blues against Feyenoord, score 4-3, in the main phase of the Europa League.
The former footballer from FCSB had only words of praise for the footballers of Elias Charalambous and Mihai Pintilii. Raul Rusescu also found the key to victory in the match against the Dutch: FCSB dominated the most important moments of the game and had “the power not to give up”. Also, the former Romanian international analyzed the statement of Siyabonga Ngezana, through which the defender implied that he could leave the red-blue grouping after the African Cup of Nations ends.
Raul Rusescu reacted after FCSB – Feyenoord 4-3: “It's in the DNA of the club”
“A very good match. I can say that yesterday I saw two games with a good rhythm from the Romanian teams. In a few minutes it became 1-3 from 1-0, but as this team is used to in its history to produce results and comebacks, so it did last night.
In many moments Feyenoord was superior. In the most important moments, i.e. the beginning and the end of the game, FCSB was superior. That didn't really happen this year. It didn't really happen to start well and it almost didn't happen to end well. This team has something special. The European nights gave prominence to the club. It is in the club's DNA to play big games. This is a big match.
I saw everything that people expect to see from a football match. I saw that the team did not give up. I saw the team capable of physically dominating opponents who won all the duels until the 60th minute. We saw what we didn't see this year, but we saw last season. The fact that they didn't quit, the fact that they had the strength to come back from 1-3 against a superior opponent. We must not take it out of context. Feyenoord were superior in many moments last night. Romanian football is able to offer moments of joy.
If this comeback happened last season, it was somewhat expected because the team was in a good moment. Things were going well and they didn't have many injured players. We have to put it in context. It's in the club's DNA that European nights become important. There were many injured, the results were not up to expectations until now. That's the difference between them and the other teams. Craiova was in a much better moment, but was unable to continue it in the Conference”, Raul Rusescu told GSP Live.
Raul Rusescu: “I understood Ngezana's statement as if it was the last match this year”
The former FCSB footballer was commenting on the statement of defender Siyabonga Ngezana, the South African defender who is set to leave for the AFCON. The stopper gave an interpretable statement at the end of the match with Feyenoord. Asked if he will return to FCSB after AFCON, Ngezana said: “We never know what the future holds.” Raul Rusescu is of the opinion that there is no question of Ngezana, a player criticized lately, leaving the team.
“I understood Ngezana's statement as if it was the last match for this year. He is going to the Africa Cup of Nations. Players sometimes like to use word games and leave room for interpretations. At this moment, there is no problem”, Raul Rusescu said.
The goals were some more beautiful than others. The goal scored by Toma comes due to the fact that he was used in his position. It is more constant. Toma made space, scored, this should give him confidence. He scored at an important moment.
This match puts you in the cards for qualification. That is the reality. This match can offer them, in the context of a good result in Zagreb, you can play with the qualification on the table with Fenerbahce in Bucharest.
