A bus got stuck in Brăila on Sunday, after both rear wheels fell into a crater formed while it was crossing the street, according to the local publication Objetive Vocea Brăilei.
The incident occurred around 10:30 a.m., on Nicolae Bălcescu street, in the area of the intersection with Catolică street in the Old Center of Brailei.
There were several passengers on the bus, who were evacuated safely, without any injuries, according to the cited source.
“A bus from Braicar. Look at the pit here! Mom, what's here! (…) The bus fell into the pit,” says a man in one of the video clips circulating on social networks.
Most likely, the breach, at least one meter deep and about 3 meters wide, appeared due to infiltrations from the underground pipes, the cited source states. The teams of the Public Utilities Company “Dănărea” intervened to repair the damage.
Traffic in the area was temporarily blocked, and removing the bus from the pit was difficult, requiring two cranes.
