Deputy George Simion, the leader of Gold, commented on Deputy Prime Minister Dragoș Anastasiu to take a step back and suggested that he hoped that the example and the other four deputy mayors from the Bolojan government will follow.

“A Deputy Prime Minister left. There are 4! Let's have left! Either there is no left,” George Simion said on a Facebook post.

Anastasiu announced his resignation

On Sunday afternoon, in a press conference for over an hour, Dragoș Anastasiu announced that he resigns from the position of deputy prime minister, after information in the public space appeared that for eight years, during 2009-2017, his company bribed an ANAF employee.

“At this moment, in this climate, it is very clear to me that I can no longer help, because, no matter what I would say, it will continue the process of denigration, based on some facts, but taken to the extreme. This is why, by discussing with the prime minister, I told him (…) that it is time to take a step, as I want to do it. The reforms should not go on, “said Anastasiu.
