For the fourth time in a row, Sabalenka will play in the quarterfinals of the Australian Open, where she will face Iva Jovic. The 18-year-old American, ranked 27th in the world, impressed against Iulia Putintseva, from Kazakhstan, score 6-0, 6-1.

Novak Djokovic secured his place in the quarter-finals of the Australian Open after his round-of-16 opponent Jakub Mensik withdrew with abdominal problems on Sunday, a day before the evening session at Melbourne Park on Monday.

“After doing everything I could to continue, I have to withdraw from the Australian Open due to an abdominal muscle injury that has worsened in recent matches! Now it's time to recover properly!wrote Mensik, on Instagram.

This withdrawal allows Novak Djokovic to advance directly to the quarterfinals of the Australian Open. The Serbian thus reaches the 16th quarter-final in Melbourne, according to news.ro.

In the quarterfinals, Djokovic will face the winner of the match between American Taylor Fritz and Italian Lorenzo Musetti.
