The team trained by Julian Nagelsmann takes an important step towards qualifying for the final “16” miles with this success, also determining the result of this edition. The 4-1 victory of the USA team in the match against Paraguay was thus surpassed.

The suspense did not last long in this game. And Germany had a perfect start to the competition. The Europeans opened the scoring in the 6th minute, through Nmecha, with a shot from the box.

Then, in the 11th minute, Leroy Sane came close to scoring but sent wide. And the surprise came after ten minutes, when Livano Comenencia, a young FC Zurich player, shot from the edge of the box and beat Neuer, equalizing. This was the first goal scored by Curacao in a World Cup final tournament.

Shortly before the break, Bazoer fouled Nmecha in the box and a penalty was awarded, the shot being impeccably converted by Kai Havertz, in the 5th minute of overtime.

The Europeans started the second half strongly as well, and Musiala scored from Kimmich's pass, in the 47th minute, with a shot to the long corner, from an angle, after being engaged in the box. Sane sent wide in the 63rd minute, so that after only five minutes Undav passed with his heel for Nathaniel Brown, and the left back made it 5-1 for the Germans. It was his first goal for the German team.

Havertz managed to score a double

Margaritha shot past Neuer's goal post in the 76th minute, but Undav increased the Germans' advantage in the 78th minute from Kimmich's pass, after an accidental exit by the goalkeeper from Curacao.

Australia managed the first big surprise since the football WC, overcoming Turkey!

Havertz made the double (min. 88), with a lob over the goalkeeper Room, after being released by Undav. Sane (min. 63) escaped alone with the goalkeeper, but shot incredibly wide.
