During the December attacks on energy infrastructure, critical infrastructure was not at risk for a moment – said Prime Minister Donald Tusk after the meeting, among others. with services, ministers and institutions responsible for energy security.

According to the head of government, on Thursday he met with the heads of institutions responsible for energy security, including: special services and energy ministers responsible for energy companies. The topic of the meeting was the December attacks on energy infrastructure.

I want to say that Poland defended itself against attempts to destabilize its energy infrastructure. Critical infrastructure, i.e. transmission networks – what determines the security of the entire system – was not at risk for a moment – said the Prime Minister after the meeting.

He added that the attempted attacks did not threaten “destabilization of the entire system or a blackout” in Poland.

That was out of the question at all – noted Donald Tusk.

Prime Minister: Cyber attack on Poland could have deprived 500,000 people. warm people

– They were not excessively massive and did not affect, for example, transmission systems, but they could disorganize the operation of wind farms and also affected two thermal power plants (…) Their nature was local – said the head of government. As he added, iThere are speculations that the attack had been prepared for “many, many weeks”.

Tusk emphasized that the people and systems of the state worked well and there were no, among other things, to blackout. – If this attack was successful, if everything organized was effective, up to 500,000 people would die. people would be deprived of heat – said the Prime Minister.

Prime Minister: We will ask the Senate not to introduce amendments to the act on the national cybersecurity system

At Thursday's press conference, the head of government emphasized that work is currently underway in the Sejm on the act on the national cybersecurity system. – We have agreed that after the soon finalization of this work in the Sejm, we will also ask the Senate not to introduce any amendments – he said.

He emphasized that he asked the Minister Coordinator of Special Services, Tomasz Siemoniak, who is meeting with President Karol Nawrocki on Thursday, to together with the head of the Ministry of National Defense “forward this passionate appeal to the President (…) so that he does not delay and signs the bill.”

I hope that this fits into the logic of our agreement or consensus between various institutions when it comes to the country's security. There should be no political disputes here, he added.

– We will like it thanks to this bill equip relevant institutions with strong toolsalso control the acquisition of information and protect the Polish market against such systems and devices that could facilitate interference and information acquisition by foreign countries – emphasized the Prime Minister.
