He spoke about the report of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Alexander Syrsky.
“It’s difficult everywhere now, at the front it’s most difficult. Considering both the weather and Russian attempts to pretend that they are not concerned about the need to end this war,” Zelensky noted.
According to him, Russian “assaults continue,” just as the defense of Ukrainian positions continues.
“Pokrovskoe direction, Gulyaypole [Запорожской области]Kupyansk direction – all directions where needed. Russian losses must not decrease. Our defense at the front is our strength in diplomacy. Ukraine must be strong,” Zelensky said.
Context
Syrsky wrote on January 13 that the defense forces did not allow critical breakthroughs by the army of the aggressor country of the Russian Federation at the front, which tried to seize the rest of the territories of the Donetsk, Lugansk, Zaporozhye regions, the right bank of the Kherson region, and also intended to reach Odessa in order to cut off Ukraine’s access to the sea.
According to the commander-in-chief, during the year the occupying army lost more than 418 thousand people killed and wounded. At the same time, during 2025, the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to reduce the number of its own personnel losses by 13%, Syrsky added.
