A 26-year-old man, from the Vaslui Băceşti commune, was detained by the police on Thursday after he was accused of violating the protection order and tried to assault his wife, and then he hit a police vehicle and the policemen who were asked to intervene and managed to run away even though he was handcuffed, reports Agerpres.
According to the representatives of the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate (IPJ), the incident took place in the afternoon of January 7, when a 26-year-old woman from Băceşti commune called emergency number 112 that her husband violated the protection order, issued in November 2025, by the Vaslui Court.
“The policemen of the 6th Negresti Rural Police Department went to the spot, finding that the reports were confirmed. They identified her husband at the woman's house, who was in an advanced state of intoxication and who was recalcitrant. Following the man's behavior, the policemen handcuffed him, at the same time, an ambulance was requested, in order to involuntarily admit the man. He also showed changes in his condition of health, with episodes of vomiting. Next, the handcuffed man hit with objects with a police car bottle, including the policemen, managing to flee from the scene,” said the spokesperson of IPJ Vaslui, Bogdan Gheorghiţă.
The police finally managed to catch him the next day, and the prosecutor ordered his detention, for 24 hours, for committing the crimes of domestic violence, violation of the protection order and insult.
The police continue their investigations in order to establish the factual situation. The man is to be presented before the court with a proposal for preventive arrest.
